The basketball team of Government Service Insurance System, GSIS Furies, has been playing in the league of public servants since Season 3.
Every game time, their passion to deliver is evident, knowing that the fruits of their hard work will be reaped by the body that protects them in their workplace, the Kapisanan ng mga Manggagawa sa GSIS (KMG).
(The Kapisanan ng mga Manggagawa sa GSIS o KMG [Union of GSIS Workers] was formed on September 3, 1987, primarily to represent the workers to the management and to the board. We make sure that labor standards are rightfully adhered to for the protection of the employees.)
Aside from upholding the rights of every GSIS employee, KMG also helps in their financial needs.
Ang limitation is, we are only able to extend assistance to our members.
(The KMG also provides other services like loans for sick members and those injured in an accident. However, we are only able to extend help to our members. It would be great if we could also help the workers’ dependents like their parents.)
On the seventh season of UNTV Cup, the GSIS Furies has donated 100,000 pesos to the Kapisanan ng mga Manggagawa sa GSIS (KMG).
And with the cash prize given by UNTV Cup to KMG through the team, they now have an additional fund that enables them to do more.
KMG Treasurer Paz Olarte expressed, “Marami pong salamat Bro. Eli, Bro.
(Thank you Bro. Eli Soriano, Bro. Daniel Razon for the attention you are giving to the rank and file employees of GSIS. May you continue to help people like us. Thank you so much.)
