Judiciary snaps AFP’s winning streak at UNTV Cup

Chester Tolomia and Frederick Salamat fired 5 three points each to lead the Judiciary Magis to victory against the AFP Cavaliers 95-93.

The hailed Best Player of the Game, Chester Tolomia, poured a total of 37 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal; while Frederick Salamat helped with 19 points.

This is the first time the AFP Cavaliers lost this season, nevertheless, they are still on top of the ranks with 6-1 win-loss record while the Magis is on the 8th spot on the brink of elimination having a 3-5 win-loss standing.

Meanwhile, Season 5 champion, PNP Responders, continue to climb in the ranking after defeating the NHA Builders, 102-93.

The Sniper, Ollan Omiping, fired 35 points with 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals to be named as the Best Player of the Game together with Richard Villanueva who produced 14 points.

Though the NHA had the lead at the end of the 3rd period, the Builders were outscored by the policemen in the final period with 31 points compared to just 21.

Villanueva’s 2 crucial three-pointers were vital in turning the game in their favor.

Responders rose to 2nd place in ranking with 6-2 win-loss record while the Builders are on 4th place with 4-3 record.

In the 3rd game, defending champion, Senate Defenders, overpowered the DA Food Masters, 84-76.

Best Players of the Game were Garri Sevilla and Harly Ng for their combined 44 points.

This win is crucial for the Senate team to be able to continue to the next round of the league and be able to defend their championship title because they are now in the 6th place.
