Judiciary subdues DOJ in 2OT

Firepower meets firepower.

This has been the story of the battle between the Magis and Justice Boosters on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the Pasig City Sports Center for the continuation of UNTV Cup Season 6 elimination round.

DOJ’s Paul Gerard Reguerra connected 6 three-pointers from his 31-point production while Judiciary’ Don Camaso converted 8 treys from his 30 points overall.

In addition, Camaso’s teammate Chester Tolomia produced six 3s from a massive 34 points output.

It was a toe-to-toe battle for most of the game by which, a rare double overtime at UNTV Cup history occurred: 75-75 at the fourth period and 80-80 deadlock in the first overtime.

Frederick Salamat (12p) and Warren Ybañez (8p) supported the two best players of the game: Camaso and Tolomia.

While the DOJ Justice Boosters got some back up from Justine Lopez, Eric Mabazza and Marlon San Juan with 12 points each.

In other games, NHA Builders denied the Ombudsman Graft Busters its first win of the season in final score 101-80.

Marvin Mercado was hailed as the best player of the game after leading the Builders with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals.

On the other hand, the Ombudsman was led by Renelou Lumague and Francis Palacio with 13 points apiece.

And finally, BFP Firefighters got their first victory of the season after defeating the DOH Health Achievers in a lopsided game, 89-68.

Former professional basketball players Rob Wainwright (20p/7r/2b) and playing coach Gilbert Malabanan (18p/8r/1a/2s) led the Firefighters.
