“Next time, babawi kami.”
(We will bounce back.)
This was the promise of NHA Builders Head Coach Silverio “Bennet” Palad III after experiencing a loss from Malacañang-PSC Kamao last September 17.
Towards the end of the game against the Kamao, the Builders on the hard wood seemed to have loosened their defense and offense. Hence the Kamao’s side was able to clinch the lead, and then the win, 92-90.
“Nagkumpiyansya sila. ang momentum napunta na sa kanila. Bago kami naka-recover, wala na, too late na,” Coach Bennet Palad recalled.
(They, the Malacañang-PSC, got confidence and momentum and before we could recover, it was too late.)
That is why for Coach Bennet, gearing up mentally is far more important than physical preparation this time as they face the PDEA Drug Busters on Wednesday, September 27.
“Ang preparation ko para sa next game, siguro, mentally na muna. Siguro ipapaalam ko lang sa kanila how to protect the ball.”
(My preparation for the team maybe more of mental. I will teach them how to protect the ball.)
Both the Builders and the Drug Busters presently have one loss and no win.
The UNTV Cup crowd can also expect an adamant PDEA team, led by former professional basketball players big man Marlon Basco and guard Robert Sanz.
The Builders-Drug Busters match will take place at 2:00 in the afternoon at the Pasig City Sports Center, and will be aired on Sunday, October 1.
Also slated on the triple-header are the match up of DOJ Justice Boosters and Department of Agriculture Food Masters on the second game. While PNP Responders will face DOH Health Achievers on the third game. — Bernard Dadis | UNTV News & Rescue
