Wish 107.5 has been hailed as the best FM station during the GEMS Awards 2019 on Thursday.
It is no surprise why Wish FM, spearheaded by Kuya Daniel Razon, already won numerous awards despite being in its early years.
During the third GEMS Hiyas ng Sining Awards 2019, held at the Center for Performing Arts in Muntinlupa city, Wish FM was recognized as the best FM station in the country.
“Kumpara sa iba na dekada na ang binilang, ngunit nanggulat sila sa mga tagapakinig sa paraan at istilo nilang kaibig-ibig. Nasapul agad nila ang pulso ng masa, di lang ng mga sosyal at may pihikang panlasa, kahit saan mang dako, istasyon nila ay bukam-bibig sa musika at tinig nilang nakakakilig. Para sa ating Best Radio Station FM, Wish FM 107.5, (Compared to [other stations] that are already decades old, this station had a unique style that captured the hearts of everyone, not just the elite. Everywhere, their station shines when it comes to music. For our Best Radio Station FM, Wish FM 107.5)” the GEMS Award commentator said.
Since it hit the airwaves in 2014, it already struck the hearts of music lovers. Wish 107.5 changed the stage in performing hit songs after the first and only mobile radio booth in the country, the Wish Bus, was launched.
Local artists across the country were also given the opportunity to show off their talents, not only in the Philippines but also abroad.
Whether you’re already a veteran in the music industry or just starting, Wish 107.5 provides equal opportunity to share your music.
Wish’s YouTube channel has also become an online favorite because of its sound and video quality. Many featured artists already gained millions of views.
The Wish 107.5 representatives, DJ Faye and DJ Adam, are grateful for the support of the listeners and vows to continue providing a unique experience when it comes to listening to music.
“Maraming, maraming salamat sa GEMS awards and sa De La Salle Zobel para sa parangal na ito. Nakakataba ng puso kasi ang mga taong katulad ninyo ang inspirasyon namin sa ginagawa namin, (Thank you Gems awards and De La Salle Zobel for this award. It fills my heart because you are our inspiration)” DJ Faye said.
“Maraming salamat sa GEMS (Thank you GEMs) and also major prompts to all the people behind the scenes from the sound tech guys. Iyong mga video editors, (The video editors) and all that. Like, lahat tayo, talagang collective effort (All of your, this is a collective effort) to attain the success and recognition. To GOD be the glory,” DJ Adam said.—Aileen Cerrudo (with reports from Asher Cadapan Jr.)
To continue the spirit of charity, Wish 107.5 celebrated its 6th anniversary by giving away over 100 tablets to students.
The Wish 107.5 digital benefit concert ‘Notes of Hope’ featured performances of several OPM powerhouse artists including Moira Dela Torre, Jason Marvin, Darren Espanto, The Juans, Bugoy Drilon, SB19 and BMPI’s own Wishfuls.
Desiree Castro, one of the beneficiaries, is grateful for the tablet especially after her parents lost their jobs.
“Marami pong hirap ngayong pandemya pero malaking pagkakataon po ito para sa aming mga estudyante itong tablet na ito para magamit po namin sa pagaaral (This pandemic has been a great challenge but this tablet is a good opportunity for us to use in our studies),“ she said.
Another beneficiary, Manuelito Carretero, had to make ends meet by being an on-call driver. He has long been worrying for the school needs of his children
“Malaking bagay po sa kanila kasi wala po kaming kakayahan makabili ng ganoong gadgets lalo po sa panahon ngayon (This is a huge deal for them because we have no means to buy these kinds of gadgets especially during these times),” he said.
The radio station’s benefit concert also gave hope to Erika Mae De Vera who was close to stop pursuing her studies. She said her father already told her not to enroll since they would not have any means to buy the gadget for online learning.
“Makakaasa po kayong pagbubutihan ko po ang aking pagaaral (Rest assured that I will do good in my studies),“ she said.
BMPI CEO and President Daniel Razon expressed his gratitude for the support of Wishers and vows to continue providing a platform for artists.
“Our friends from the live events industry are some of those who have been heavily hit, which is one of the reasons we strive to remain to be a platform where artists can continue to share their music and impart messages of positivity amid these difficult times,” he said. -AAC (with reports from Mirasol Abogadil)
