MANILA, Philippines — Mayor Isko Domagoso has ordered the relief of the precinct commander of Plaza Miranda after seeing a congested, dirty Carriedo street on Wednesday (July 24).

During his midnight roving around the city, Mayor Isko in his live vlog couldn’t contain his irritation upon seeing piles of garbage and a series of vendors along the street.

”Makakadaan pa ba? Walang daan paano pati sa gitna ng kalye, basura, vendor, (Can we drive through? There’s no space anymore because even the center of the street is occupied by garbage and vendors),” Domagoso said while telling his driver to enter the vending-busy street.

Aside from the piles of stinky garbage, makeshift tents of returning vendors were also found adding congestion to the area.

“Sino nga yung major dito? Ipa-relieve yan bukas, (Who is the [police] major here? I will have him relieved tomorrow),” the visibly annoyed Mayor said.

Domagoso had previously ordered the clearing of Carriedo of illegal vendors in his first days in office.

“Ito po ang Carriedo, (This is Carriedo,) “Nasa paligid (ang vendors). Ang Carriedo sinabi ko huwag nilang babalikan, (Vendors are everywhere. I told them not to return to Carriedo),” Moreno said aboard his vehicle while showing the surroundings.

“Vendors talaga ang nagkakalat ng basura, (Vendors are really the source of garbage),” he added.

Last week, Domagoso ordered the relief of a Lawton Police Precinct commander after finding the Bonifacio Shrine filthy after it was turned into a public toilet left with mounds of human waste.

Pro-Duterte rallyists call for support to admin’s war on drugs and reforms in the country

Almost 50,000 individuals from various areas across the country participated in the pro-Duterte rally yesterday September 22, 2017 at Plaza Miranda.

Thousands of supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte flocked to Plaza Miranda in Manila on Thursday to express their support for the programs and reforms of the government.

Almost 50,000 individuals from various areas across the country participated in the pro-Duterte rally.

Some officials of the administration also attended the gathering like Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi, OFW party-list Representative John Bertiz, and other personalities.

“We are here to express. This is an encouragement to provide the public the venue to express their support to the president and to express their concerns,” said Department of Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi.

The organizer, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Board Member Benny Antiporda said the gathering was to show their unity and support for the programs of the government particularly its campaign against illegal drugs.

Antiporda also called on the critics of the president to stop condemning the administration and to instead cooperate with authorities in achieving real change.

“I am asking them to give the government the chance to clean this society. Illegal drugs are the number one cause of our deaths. Let’s stop this fight. We should unite,” said Antiporda.

Despite the scorching heat, President Duterte’s ardent supporters remain spirited to express their satisfaction with the government’s efforts.

“First is to show to the president that we can see all his good deeds and to call on our compatriots to support the good deeds of our president. Let’s not look at the few bad things being done by the people under him,” said Estrellita Hizon, a member of the POEA Governing Board Representing Private Sector.

“We are protesting to have peace in the country. And to have this, we should support the president administration in their programs,” said Biñan-Laguna PDP-Laban Community Organizer Eric Sotelo. — Joan Nano| UNTV News & Rescue
