Signal No. 1 raised over E. Samar, parts of N. Samar due to TD Ramon

MANILA, Philippines – State weather service PAGASA raised tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) No. 1 over Eastern Samar and the eastern section of Northern Samar.
As of 4:00 PM on Tuesday (November 12), the center of tropical depression Ramon was observed at 670 kilometers East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar, packed with maximum sustained winds of up to 55 km per hour and gustiness of up to 70 km per hour.
It is moving slowly towards the westward direction.
Based on PAGASA’s latest forecast, TD Ramon is expected to intensify into a Tropical Storm within the next 48 hours.
On Wednesday (November 13), expect light to moderate with occasional heavy rains over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Samar, and Eastern Samar.
Likewise, light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains will be experienced over Romblon, Marinduque and Southern Quezon.
On Thursday (November 14), light to moderate with occasional heavy rains may be experienced over Isabela, Aurora, Quirino, Northern Quezon including Polillo Islands and Camarines Norte.
Likewise, light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains over Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, Romblon, Marinduque, and the rest of Bicol Region and Quezon.
PAGASA advised residents in all affected areas to take precautionary measures against possible landslides and flash floods.
Meanwhile, sea travel remains risky over the seaboards of areas under TCWS, as well as the seaboards of Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboards of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon and the Visayas due to prevailing rough sea conditions.
MANILA, Philippines – The low pressure area (LPA) east of Quezon Province has developed into tropical depression (TD) ‘Butchoy,’ according to the latest report of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
As of 4:00 pm on Thursday (June 11), PAGASA located the eye of TD Butchoy at 75 km Northwest of Daet, Camarines Norte.
It is moving West-Northwest at 20 kilometers per hour (km/h), packed with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 55 km/h.
Thus, PAGASA raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (CWS) No. 1 over the following areas:
The southern portion of Aurora
The northern and central portion of Quezon
Under TCWS #1, winds of 30-60 km/h may be expected in at least 36 hours or intermittent rains may be expected within 36 hours.
TD Butchoy is forecast to cross Polillo Islands and make landfall over northern Quezon-southern Aurora area between tonight and tomorrow morning Friday (June 12).
