MANILA, Philippines — Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio on Saturday (November 13) filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) for vice president as substitute for Lakas-CMD’s original bet Lyle Uy for the 2022 national and local elections.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) officially received Duterte – Carpio’s COC from her lawyer Reynold Munsayac.

Mayor Sara’s move comes two days ahead of the deadline for substitution of election aspirants on November 15.

Under Comelec rules, substitution is accepted if a candidate dies, withdraws, or is disqualified by the poll body. The substitute must also belong to the same political party.

Following Duterte-Carpio’s filing of COC with Comelec, the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) announced its adoption of the Davao mayor as their vice presidential candidate.

In a resolution released Saturday, the PFP endorsed the presidential daughter  as the running mate of the party’s standard-bearer Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for the 2022 polls.

“Resolved that vice presidential candidate Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio of the Lakas-CMD is hereby adopted by the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) as its candidate for vice president, and hereby endorses her candidacy as the running mate of the PFP’s official candidate for president of the Philippines Senator Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. in the 9 May 2022 national elections,” read the PFP’s resolution.  —/mbmf

Robie de Guzman   •   January 21, 2022

MANILA, Philippines – The PDP-Laban faction led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi on Friday said it has adopted Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio as its vice presidential candidate for the May 2022 national elections.

In a statement, the PDP-Laban wing said it is already finalizing the terms of its alliance agreement with Lakas-CMD party, which is chaired by Mayor Sara.

“The decision to adopt Mayor Sara has been made by the PDP-Laban National Executive Committee based on her credentials, advocacies, and vision for our nation,” the group said.

“Based on these, the PDP-Laban has decided that the quality of her advocacies and vision are strongly aligned with that of the party,” it added.

The group also said that Sara Duterte-Carpio’s leadership and track record “make her most qualified for the position she is now aspiring for and therefore deserves the party’s support.”

It also expressed its belief that Sara’s election to the vice presidency “will help ensure the continuity of the vital programs of the current administration.”

Sara Duterte-Carpio and the Lakas-CMD have yet to issue a statement on the matter.

While it adopted Mayor Sara, the Cusi-led faction left out her running mate, former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

The group said it is still in the process of evaluating who among the presidential candidates would best continue the programs of the Duterte administration.

It will also consider President Rodrigo Duterte’s personal pick for president in deciding who to support for the presidency, it added.

Pagbabawal sa non-essential face-to-face gathering sa Davao City, pinalawig hanggang Sept. 2022

  • inauguration
  • anniversary
  • thanksgiving
  • ribbon-cutting
  • blessing
  • turnover
  • groundbreaking activity
  • launching program
  • salo-salo
  • birthday
  • press conferences
  • oath taking program
  • photo opportunity
  • retirement honors
  • welcome honors
  • testimonial programs
  • summer outing
  • team building
