Almost 50,000 individuals from various areas across the country participated in the pro-Duterte rally yesterday September 22, 2017 at Plaza Miranda.

Thousands of supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte flocked to Plaza Miranda in Manila on Thursday to express their support for the programs and reforms of the government.

Almost 50,000 individuals from various areas across the country participated in the pro-Duterte rally.

Some officials of the administration also attended the gathering like Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi, OFW party-list Representative John Bertiz, and other personalities.

“We are here to express. This is an encouragement to provide the public the venue to express their support to the president and to express their concerns,” said Department of Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi.

The organizer, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Board Member Benny Antiporda said the gathering was to show their unity and support for the programs of the government particularly its campaign against illegal drugs.

Antiporda also called on the critics of the president to stop condemning the administration and to instead cooperate with authorities in achieving real change.

“I am asking them to give the government the chance to clean this society. Illegal drugs are the number one cause of our deaths. Let’s stop this fight. We should unite,” said Antiporda.

Despite the scorching heat, President Duterte’s ardent supporters remain spirited to express their satisfaction with the government’s efforts.

“First is to show to the president that we can see all his good deeds and to call on our compatriots to support the good deeds of our president. Let’s not look at the few bad things being done by the people under him,” said Estrellita Hizon, a member of the POEA Governing Board Representing Private Sector.

“We are protesting to have peace in the country. And to have this, we should support the president administration in their programs,” said Biñan-Laguna PDP-Laban Community Organizer Eric Sotelo. — Joan Nano| UNTV News & Rescue

In his Facebook post, Senator Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa can be seen with Mayor Sara in the hallway of the Davao City Hall.

Dela Rosa did not elaborate what transpired during their meeting, but in an interview with UNTV News, the party’s presidential bet said he just reminded the young Duterte that the deadline for the substitution of candidates is drawing near.

“I just reminded her that Nov. 15 is fast approaching,” Senator Bato said.

November 15 is the last day for the filing of substitution of candidates in any position in the 2022 National and Local Elections.

Mayor Sara, meanwhile, confirmed the said meeting but did not give any detail.

Samantala, ayon kay National Union of Peoples Lawyers (NUPL) chairman Atty.

Running under Promdi Party will spare Pacquiao’s candidacy from mess of PDP-Laban factions — Munsayac

Maris Federez   •   October 11, 2021

MANILA, Philippines — The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) Pacquiao-wing does not see any problem with Senator Manny Pacquiao’s  filing of the Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) of another party in the 2022 national and local elections.

PDP-Laban Executive Director Ron Munsayac said a resolution was submitted by the national executive committee to allow its standard-bearer to use the CONA of another party like the Promdi party amid the rift caused by the creation of two factions within the ruling party.

“PDP-Laban pa rin po si Senator Manny Pacquiao pero ang ginamit niyang CONA for this election is Promdi because number 1, kaalyansa naman namin sila, number 2 meron naman talagang legal battle na kinakaharap and PDP-Laban,” Munsayac said.

The Cusi-faction has already submitted before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc its petition seeking to declare their group as the legitimate PDP-Laban party.

Based on Comelec rules, the standard-bearer of a party that is considered illegitimate is automatically considered as an independent candidate.

This, Munsayac said, is what Pacquaio’s group is preparing for.

The Pacquiao faction is confident that they will be the one that Comelec will declare as the legitimate party. —/mbmf (from the report of UNTV Correspondent Nel Maribojoc)
