The Police Regional Office 3 is on full alert after the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that rocked several parts of Luzon.
This is to assist casualties of the earthquake according to Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Oscar Albayalde.
They also activated the Disaster Incident Management Task Group. Albayalde said that some of their troops are already in Porac, Pampanga.
“Iyong kanilang disaster incident management team ay na-activate kaagad iyon and then they provided rescuers doon sa may Porac area, napakarami nating troops ngayon doon hanggang ngayon, (Their Disaster Incident Management Team was immediately activated and then they provided rescuers in Porac area. We currently have a lot of troops there),” Albayalde said.
The national police is also monitoring establishments in the area to prevent individuals from looting. The PNP chief added there are no incidents of looting reported as of yet.
“Hopefully walang mag-take advantage dito, (Hopefully no one will take advantage of this),” said Albayalde. — Aileen Cerrudo
The PNP chief said they were able to confiscate a total of 62 sacks of rice and 22 trays of eggs in different areas in Mindanao and Calabarzon Region.
“Wala sa kanilang umaamin kung saan nanggagaling, but we got election campaign material na doon sa specific candidates na iyon,” he said.
(No one would admit as to where the items came from but we got election campaign materials from that specific candidate.)
“But they deny na nanggaling doon sa mga kandidato na iyon at walang gustong magsabi whether the buyer or the seller kung sino or saan galing ang pera,” he added.
(But they deny that the items were from those [specific] candidates. No one, not the buyer nor the seller, wanted to admit where the items or cash came from.) – (with reports from Lea Ylagan) Marje Pelayo
