The 2nd Wish 107.5 Music Awards (WMA) will be more than just an evening of music and entertainment. The FM station that puts philanthropy at its core will also be granting over Php 1 million to key charitable institutions.
This “wish granting” will be one of the main highlights of the 2nd WMA, which will happen on January 16, Monday, at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.
The winners of the WMA’s major categories will be given the chance to donate Php 100,000 to their chosen beneficiaries. This is apart from the cash prize worth Php 25,000 each of the winning artists will receive.
These categories include Best WISHclusive Performances (by a Group or a Duo/Young/Female/Male Artist), Wish Original Songs of the Year (by a Group or a Duo/Female/Male Artist) and Wish Artists of the Year (Young/ Female/ Male).
Apart from these major awards, the 2nd WMA will also honor OPM artists through the following minor and special awards: Wish Promising Artist, Best Wish Cover, Wish Reactors’ Choice Award and WISHclusive Viral Video of the Year.
Meanwhile, the highest citations will be given to the first batch of members of the WISHclusive Elite Circle. This group will be composed of artists whose performances on the Wish 107.5 YouTube Channel have garnered at least 10 million views.
Fans and supporters cancast their votes online through the WMA website, www.wish1075.com/wishawards, until 12 noon of January 16. Online votes will comprise 50% of a nominee’s total score while the other 50% will come from the votes of a select panel of judges.
QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Before their much-awaited grand finals night at the Big Dome on February 26, the Wishcovery Season 2 grand finalists serenaded the music lovers in Antipolo Rizal on Tuesday night.
They claimed having mixed emotions as they got together for the first time to sing the composition of their Composer-Wishcoverer in front of a live audience.
Aside from their one-of-a-kind experience, the Wishcoveree grand finalists said they will cherish the happy memories they have shared despite the stiff competition.
They also said they are in awe of the concept of Wishcovery Season 2 and the opportunities that Wish 107.5 had presented not only to them as aspiring singers in the country but also to their chosen beneficiaries.
The eight Wishcoverees claimed that it is a wish-come-true for them to perform in such huge venue.

QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Filipino artists took the center stage at the Big Dome on Tuesday (January 15) for the fourth Wish Music Awards hosted by Wish 107.5.
Wish Music Awards aims at recognizing exceptional talents of Filipino artists and their notable contributions to the Philippine music industry.
Hailed big winners were Morissette Amon and the rising funk rock trio IV of Spades.
Morisette bagged six major awards including the Wish Artist of the Year; Wishclusive Ballad Performance of the Year and the Wish Pop Song of the Year.
“I’m so really grateful to wish for giving us the platform to share our music to so many people around the world. Thank you so much and congratulations kasi siyempre this is all for a good cause. We’re all helping out our beneficiaries, our foundations and I think that was really special about the Wish Music Awards,” the Asia’s Phoenix said.
Meanwhile, IV of Spades received four major awards namely Wish Group of the Year; Wishclusive Rock/Alternative Performance of the Year and Viral Video of the Year.
The group is also the recipient of the very first Diamond Wishclusive Elite Circle Award for their Wishclusive performance of their hit song ‘Mundo’ which garnered over 103 million votes and counting on YouTube.
“Ma-recognize at this na parang nandito kami sa state na ito na nagsisimula pa lang kami na gumawa pa ng music so parang ngayon mas nakaka-inspire na gumawa pa ng mas maraming music,” the group said.
A total of 26 other artists were included in the bronze, silver, gold and platinum Elite Circle Awards. This particular category recognizes the artists who get at least 10 million views for their respective Youtube video.
The TNT Boys and the Wishfuls were also recipient of a special award called the ‘Breaking Boundaries’ Award for their achievement as rising artists.
Meanwhile, Wish Music Awards is not only a celebration of original Pilipino music (OPM) but a way to reach out to those in need.
Each winning artist received P25,000 for each award while their chosen beneficiaries received P100,000.
Morisette took home P150,000 for six awards and her chosen beneficiary Meritxell Children’s World Foundation Incorporated received a total of P600,000.
“There’s really no other award-giving body like it. Sobrang nakaka-happy kasi we are recognized as artists and the hard work we do, at the same time, we get to help out. Dito ko lang po narinig iyon. And I’m very happy to be part of the Wish family po talaga,” Morisette said.
Meanwhile, IV of Spades took home P100,000 for their group and P400,000 for their chosen beneficiary — the Philippine Assistance for Hydrocephalus Victims — for bagging four awards.
“I think this is the very first award-giving body na nagbibigay ng cash along with the award so it’s a very good idea that hindi lang kami ‘yung nakakatanggap ng blessings pero kasama din ‘yung mga beneficiaries,” the group said.
Other charitable institutions who received cash donations from winning artists include Virlaine Foundation Incorporated; A Home for the Angels Crisis Home for Abandoned Babies Foundation, Incorporated; Kythe Foundation Incorporated; Children’s Rehabilitation Center; Bethany House- Sto. Niño Orphanage Incorporated; Willing Hearts Orphanage Incorporated; Children’s Mission Philippines; and Hills of Grace Foundation Incorporated.
“Very thankful kasi aside from the trophy na hinding-hindi mababayaran ng salapi, we get to help people who need like for example, may P100,000, sobrang laki na noon. Ang daming bata na mapapakain noon. Madaming bata na ang mabibigyan ng school supplies, hindi ba? So sobrang thankful na hindi lang ito. Kumbaga, mas importante nga iyon. Parang mas mabigat sa puso ko ang award na iyon, iyong makatulong ka sa kapuwa mo just by singing,” said KZ Tandingan who was among the recipients of the Gold and Bronze Elite Circle Award for her two Wishclusive performances.
First time guest and British YouTube reactor Dan Evans was truly amazed by the concept.
“I think it’s an amazing idea. I don’t think there’s enough events like this where people give so generously to charity, something which is an amazing job,” Evans said.
Wish FM’s innovator Kuya Daniel Razon hopes that the cash donations will somehow help and make a positive difference in the advocacies of the chosen beneficiaries.

Wish FM has also received a special citation for its YouTube channel that now garnered 2.6 million subscribers and almost one billion views.
“Being part of Wish is so humbling because it’s a transcendent station and the reason why it’s transcendent is because of a true rockstar in broadcasting, Kuya Daniel Razon. I’m just really proud to be working under his supervision kaya, congrats to Wish and to god be the glory,” said DJ Adam. — Leslie Longboen | UNTV News and Rescue
