MANILA – The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) launches today a system called Passenger Assist Rail Display.

The new system would allow passengers determine the time of arrival and departure of trains in every LRT-2 station.

The LTRA will install 40 monitors in each train of LRT-2 that can display the cause of delay in each trip.

Of the ten trains of the LRT-2, only one has been installed with the Passenger Assist Rail Display system which will be fully operational in June.

After the installation of all monitors, the developer plans to create a mobile application that passengers can install in their cellphones.

“It will include announcements, emergency situations. All administrative announcements of LRTA can be coursed through this part,” LRT Administrator Gen. Reynaldo Berroya said.  – Joan Nano | UNTV News & Rescue

MANILA, Philippines — Passengers taking Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 2 are expected to ‘sweat no more’ as the trains’ air conditioning units (ACU) undergo repair.

The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) on its website said the company’s “Engineering and Maintenance Team has started re-engineering the control board module of the trains ACU to temporarily address the problem”.

The LRTA clarified, however, that the repairs are only temporary as old ACU will soon be replaced by new ones.
