MANILA, Philippines – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced it will be closing another U-turn slot along EDSA next week.

In an advisory, the MMDA said the U-turn slot located near Corregidor Street (northbound and southbound) will be closed to vehicular traffic starting Oct. 26.

This follows the closure of the U-turn slots in front of Quezon City Academy and along EDSA North Avenue in the past few weeks.

The agency advised motorists to take detour routes.

For southbound vehicles, they may take the U-turn slot after Dario Bridge/in front of Landers.

Northbound vehicles may take the U-turn slot at EDSA-Quezon Avenue flyover.

The MMDA earlier said the closure of U-turn slots along EDSA is to ensure the smooth operation of the EDSA Busway Project.

The EDSA busway project designates the innermost lane of EDSA as exclusive lane for buses travelling along the national highway.

Robie de Guzman   •   December 29, 2020

MANILA, Philippines – Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Danny Lim on Tuesday confirmed that he tested positive for novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In a Facebook post, Lim said he received information about the result on Monday night after taking a routine swab test.

He said he had been regularly going to work since the community quarantine was implemented in March to maintain MMDA services.

Lim said his symptoms remain mild, and that he has been undergoing self-isolation.

I will continue to self-isolate for now,” he said.

Lim said his wife and children tested negative for COVID-19.

Despite contracting the viral disease, the MMDA chairman said he will continue to work remotely and conduct meetings via teleconference.

He also reminded the public to strictly follow health and safety protocols amid the threat of COVID-19.
