Mga residente sa mga lugar maapektuhan ng water suppy disruption sa april 16-19, nag-iimbak na ng tubig

MANILA, Philippines — Mawawalanng tubig sa ilang lugar na sine-serbisyuhan ng Maynilad Water Services Incorporated simula sa Miyerkules, Abril 16 hanggang Sabado, April 19.

Ayon sa water concessionaire na nakakasakop sa labing pitong lungsod at munisipalidad sa west zone ng Metro Manila at ilang lugar sa Cavite, ang naturang water supply disruption ay sanhi ng isasagawang flood interceptor project ng Department of Public Works and Highways.

Pahayag ni Maynilad VP for Corporate Communications Bim Ocampo, “Meron silang ginagawang proyekto na direktang tatama sa napakalaking tubo ng Maynilad sa bandang Juan Luna at Hermosa St. sa Maynila. Ang gagawin kasi natin, huhukayin natin yung napakalaking tubo tapos ide-drain natin yung tubig, puputulin natin saka natin huhukayin ulit para mapailalim yung tubo. Tapos nun ikakabit yung bagong tubo, iwe-welding saka pa lang natin pwedeng buksan ulit  para mapuno yung tubo.

Kabilang sa mga maapektuhang lugar ay ang mga sumusunod: Caloocan, Malabon, Manila, Navotas, Manila, Cavite City, Noveleta, Bacoor, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa at Parañaque.

Kaya ngayon pa lang ay nag-iimbak na ng tubig ang mga residente na maapektuhan ng service interuption.

Upang maibsan naman ang epekto ng service interuption, magsasagawa ng water rationing ang Maynilad sa mga lugar na pansamantalang mawawalan ng tubig.

Dagdag ni VP Ocampo, “Sa ngayon meron tayong 78 water tankers na ide-deploy mula alas-6 ng umaga. Pero ang priority natin ay yung mga lugar na makakaranas ng ng tatlong araw o 72-hours straight na water service interuption.”

BuCor offers P100,000 reward for info on Bilibid escapee

MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has offered a P100,000 reward to anyone who can provide information that could lead to the arrest of one of the persons deprived of liberty (PDL) who escaped from the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City on Monday, January 17.

In an announcement posted on social media, the BuCor identified the PDL as Drakilou Falcon, 34, who was convicted for robbery with homicide.

The bureau said Falcon is still on the loose and search operations are still ongoing.

“BuCor will give P100,000 as a reward to anyone who can provide information on the location of PDL Drakilou Y Falcon who is still at large and considered armed & dangerous,” it said.

The two other escapees, identified as Pacifico Adlawan and Arwin Bio, were killed on Monday when they allegedly resisted arrest during the manhunt operation conducted by the personnel of the BuCor and the Muntinlupa City Police.

“The safety of the public is of paramount concern and BuCor authorities will not stop until the last escapee is accounted for in order to ensure that the escapee will not be able to inflict harm again,” the BuCor said.

Drive-thru booster site para sa PUV drivers binuksan sa Maynila

MANILA, Philippines – Binuksan ngayong araw sa lungsod ng Maynila ang drive-thru booster site para sa mga tsuper ng public utility vehicles (PUV).

Ang booster site para sa PUV drivers ay matatagpuan sa tapat ng bagong Ospital ng Maynila sa kahabaan ng Mabini Street.

Ayon kay Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, bukas ang vaccination site sa publiko, kahit sa mga hindi residente ng Maynila. Tumatanggap rin ito ng mga walk-in o walang appointment.

Para sa mga magpapa-booster, kailangan lamang ipakita ang kanilang primary vaccination card, valid identification card at QR Code para sa verification.

Kung wala namang QR Code ay maaaring magpa-rehistro sa vaccination portal na manilacovid19vaccine.ph.

“Today we just launched yung ating vaccination drive para naman sa public transport. Ito yung para sa mga jeepney driver, pedicab driver, sidecar boys at tricycle, kuliglig, taxi driver, delivery va mayroong space para sa kanila,” ani Domagoso.

“Hanggat maaari iniiwasan ko mabalam yung hanapbuhay nila, so pagka yangga sa kanila eskerda na, byahe na uli, hanapbuhay na uli sila,” dagdag pa niya.

Ayon sa lokal na pamahalaan ng Maynila, nasa 1,000 dose ng iba’t ibang brand ng COVID-19 vaccines ang inilaan sa nasabing vaccination site.

Bukas ito mula alas-otso ng umaga hanggang ala-singko ng hapon.

Ayon kay Domagoso, sa ngayon ay pinag-aaralan na nilang palakasin at palawakin pa ang isinasagawang drive-thru vaccination.

“Kasi mayroon tayong 2-wheel motorized and non-motorized tapos mayroon tayong 4-wheel na 24/7 sa Luneta at the same time mayroon tayo sa mall, sa eskwelahan, mayroon tayo sa community, yung ating mga health center,” ang wika ng alcalde.

“Ang gusto natin talaga is ma-reach as many as possible so nag-iisip tayo ng mga ways na pwede pang maabot ang ating mga kababayan at huwag na silang magsama-sama sa isang lugar,” dagdag pa niya.

Samantala, tuloy-tuloy din ang isinasagawang 24/7 booster vaccination caravan sa Quirino Grandstand sa Maynila, gayundin ang drive-thru vaccination para sa mga bike at motorcycle riders sa Kartilya ng Katipunan, sa Lawton.

Sa ulat ni Domagoso, 3,900 na mga sasakyan ang na-serbisyuhan sa 24/7 booster drive thru vaccination sa loob ng apat na araw mula nang ito ay pasimula.

3 inmates escape from Bilibid maximum security compound – BuCor

MANILA, Philippines – Three inmates on Monday escaped from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) maximum security compound, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said.

A flash alarm issued by the NBP states that the three inmates bolted from the national penitentiary around 1 a.m.

The escapees were identified as Arwin Bio, who was convicted for murder and attempted murder; Drakilou Falcon, convicted for robbery with homicide; and Pacifico Adlawan, who was convicted for frustrated homicide and a drug-related case.

These inmates were considered armed and dangerous, the BuCor said.

The bureau said coordination and recovery efforts are ongoing to arrest the escapees.

It urged the public to notify BuCor authorities at hotline number 09178049362 / 09186001081 or report to the nearest police station for any information about the convicts.
