Fuel and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices are up starting this week.
Based on oil companies, LPG prices will go up from P0.50 to P1.00 due to the oil price movement in the world market as well as the peso-dollar exchange rate.
Aside from LPG prices, oil prices also soared on Tuesday (April 30). Gasoline prices are up by P.075 per liter, diesel by P0.80 per liter, and kerosene by P0.90 per liter.
Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., Total, PTT Philippines, PetroGazz, and Seaoil already implemented the price hike at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday while the rest of the oil companies are expected to follow.—Aileen Cerrudo (with reports from Joan Nano)
MANILA, Philippines – State weather agency PAGASA is monitoring a low-pressure area (LPA) near the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) and is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone this week.
PAGASA on Monday (November 11), said the weather system is expected to enter PAR in the next 12 to 24 hours and may intensify into a tropical cyclone that will affect the eastern section of the country.
Based on PAGASA’s update, cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will still prevail in the next 24 hours over CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region and Aurora due to the trough of the LPA.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA advised residents in the affected areas to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
MANILA, Philippines – A low-pressure area (LPA) will bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms to parts of Mindanao this weekend holiday, according to state weather service PAGASA.
As of 4:00 AM on Friday (November 1), the weather system was spotted at 240 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
Although PAGASA said the LPA is less likely to intensify into a tropical cyclone, it is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Bicol Region, Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Palawan.
Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, and the Babuyan Islands.
In Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON and the rest of Cagayan Valley, cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will be experienced due to the effects of the easterlies.
Over the rest of the country, localized thunderstorms will prevail bringing isolated rainshowers throughout the holiday.
PAGASA also advised that sea travel remains risky over the seaboards of Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Northern Coast of Cagayan, Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur.
Meanwhile, the water level at Angat Dam has improved as it reached 187.14 meters at 6:00 AM today compared to 186.87 meters on Thursday (October 31).
