Former UNTV Cup champions, Judiciary and PNP to battle this Sunday.

Defending champion PNP Responders and two-time champion Judiciary Magis are set to battle on the UNTV Cup hard court in the second game on Sunday, 3:30 in the afternoon, at the Pasig City Sports Center, thus the Magis are prepping up for a championship-caliber match.

Judiciary coach Joey Yabut, “Alam naman natin PNP kailangang magpapanalo eh, susunod naming game PNP, kailangan naming magpanalo ng straight para maka-number 2 o 3 spot kami.”

(We all know that PNP needs to win. Our next opponent is PNP, so we need to win again to be able to get the number 2 or 3 spot.)

The court hoopsters are expected to watch out for two-time most valuable player Ollan “The Sniper” Omiping and Season 5 finals MVP Harold Sta. Cruz.

“Omiping pa rin… ma-contain namin sya siguro malaki chance namin, saka si Sta. Cruz,” Yabut added.

(Of course, Omiping will be the main focus of our defense… if we could contain him and Harold Sta. Cruz we will have a bigger chance.)

The Responders, on the other hand, with a 4-4 win-loss standing, is on the verge of being kicked out of the competition and failing to defend their title if they lose from the Magis.

In case the cops win against the Magis, they will still have to face runner-up team Malacañang-PSC Kamao next.

If the PNP fails to win any of its two remaining games, it will be exiting this season’s league. — Bernard Dadis | UNTV News
