“The arm of law is indeed long after several years arrested,” pahayag naman ni PNP Chief Director General Nicanor Bartolome.

(Victor Cosare/Ruth Navales, UNTV News)

Starting on Monday, August 8, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) will transfer all the impounded vehicles in their compound to San Sebastian, Tarlac.

This is part of the agency’s effort to ease traffic problems in Metro Manila.

For this reason, the LTOencourages all the owners of these vehicles to claim their cars, before it will be brought in Tarlac.

At present, there are hundreds of vehicles impounded inside the central office of LTO in Quezon City.

LTO Chief Edgardo Galvante also said that vehicles impounded for six months will be subjected for auction.

“Those who will have their transaction here, for example vehicle inspection, and other things that they should look into must be accomodated inside. Those vehicles that are impounded for more than six months will possibly be included in the list of those who will be auctioned,” Galvante said.

The agency also announced that there will be an increase in the amount of penalty because they need extra fund in transferring these vehicles to Tarlac.

“All the expenses that the government will incur in moving their vehicles will be included the amount of penalty that they have to pay,” explained Galvante.

LTO also deny that this scheme of the agency aims to earn more revenue.

But rather, the LTO chief explained that this move is to provide a stringent method of disciplining traffic violators.

TARLAC, Philippines — Generally peaceful and speedy. This is the assessment of Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and Philippine National Police (PNP) Tarlac on the recently held election last Monday.

Compared to 2010 and 2013 elections, which took a few days for provincial board to proclaim winners, 2016 election can be considered one of the fastest elections in the history of Tarlac.

All winning candidates were proclaimed at the municipal level on Tuesday morning. At past three in the afternoon, winners at the provincial level were proclaimed as well.

Although there had been hitches in few municipalities due to malfunctioning vote counting machines, they were immediately replaced. In fact, not all spare machines had been used.

There are also allegations of vote buying in some areas and brewing enmity between supporters such as the case reported in the municipality of Capas. It is still subject for validation according to PNP.
