Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan clarified that City Ordinance 0439 does not prohibit women from wearing shorts but requires residents to be ‘decently attired’.

“I believe that all women should be respected no matter what they wear,” Mayor Oca said in his official Facebook page on Wednesday.

He reiterated that the said ordinance was signed in 2007 and was passed by the previous administration. However, he did not approve the ordinance during his term.

“For me, I really want the ordinance to be repealed as I stand for equal rights to freedom,” he said.
