Bongbong, Sara forge party alliance; seal tandem
MANILA, Philippines — Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) on Wednesday announced that it has forged an alliance with Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), sealing the Bongbong-Sara tandem.
“Ang aking partido ay nakipag-alyansa at humingi ng suporta para kay Bongbong Marcos at para sa akin matapos kong tanggapin ang inyong hamon at panawagan,” said vice presidential aspirant Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
The presidential daughter said she sought support from PDP-Laban for her vice-presidential run but failed.
“Tinanggihan ito ng PDP at naiintindihan natin ito. Pero gusto ko lamang na linawin — walang pangalan na sinisira o dinudungisan, walang sinasagasaan, walang inaagrabyado, inaaway, pinapaiyak o inaapi,” she said.
Marcos, meanwhile, said that the dream team, BBM-Sara for 2022, has made it through the tough process of forming the tandem and vows to push for a unifying leadership.
“Naitawid na namin ni Mayor Inday Sara Duterte ang proseso para sa tambalang inaasam-asam ng aming mga tagasuporta – ang BBM-SARA sa 2022,” Marcos said.
“At napagkasunduan namin at ng aming mga partido ang pagsusulong ng mapagka-isang liderato sakaling kami ay palarin sa darating na halalan sa Mayo 9, 2022,” he added.

Lakas-CMD adopts Bongbong Marcos as presidential bet in 2022 polls
MANILA, Philippines – Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) has adopted former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as its candidate for president in the 2022 elections.
The Lakas-CMD party has passed a resolution confirming Marcos as its adopted candidate during its Executive Committee (Execom) meeting on Wednesday night.
The party also confirmed in another resolution that Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, who currently serves as the party’s chairperson, is its vice presidential candidate.
The Lakas-CMD resolutions have sealed the team-up of Marcos and Duterte for the upcoming elections.
The Execom also passed a resolution authorizing the president of Lakas-CMD, House Majority Leader and Leyte First District Representative Martin Romualdez to enter into alliance agreements with other political parties.
Among the political parties expected to forge alliance with the Lakas-CMD are Sara Duterte-led Hugpong ng Pagbabago, and Marcos’ Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (FPM).
In a post on social media, Duterte announced the adoption of said resolutions during their meeting.
She also said that the Uni-team alliance signing of political parties will be held on Thursday.
“Bukas na po ang Uniteam Alliance signing ng PFP, LakasCMD, PMP at HNP,” she said.
Mayor Sara resumes chairmanship of Hugpong ng Pagbabago
Vice-presidential aspirant and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has resumed the chairmanship of Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) after she took her oath on Thursday, November 19.
In a statement sent to reporters, HNP Secretary-General Anthony Del Rosario ensures that the young Duterte’s move does not contradict any law.
“Mayor Sara’s re-appointment as our Chairperson became possible as both parties’ Constitution and By-Laws do not prohibit membership and appointment as officer since HNP is a regional political party,” Del Rosario said.
The group also expressed its gratitude to Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) for accepting and supporting Mayor Sara.
“Last November 11, Mayor Sara officially became a member of Lakas-CMD, and was humbly offered their Party’s chairmanship, which she accepted yesterday,” Del Rosario said.
“We are very grateful for the enormous trust and opportunity afforded by Lakas-CMD to Mayor Sara, whom we describe as one of the country’s best political women leaders of her time,” he added.
Del Rosario further said that having Mayor Sara as chairperson of both HNP and Lakas-CMD will forge them a solid coalition.
“Lastly, Mayor Sara’s role as concurrent chairperson of both HNP and Lakas-CMD will further strengthen the alliance between the two parties. An alliance that will promote a strong people-centered development throughout Davao Region and the Philippines,” Del Rosario said. —/mbmf
