Bail hearing ni Sen. Estrada, kinansela ng Sandiganbayan

MANILA, Philippines – Magsisimula pa lang ang bail hearing ni Sen. Jinggoy Estrada sa Sandiganbayan Fifth Division kaninang umaga ay kaagad pinuna ng abogado ng senador ang tila mabagal na usad ng pagdinig.

Pinuna rin nito ang mahabang oras na ginugugol sa pagtestigo ni Benhur Luy sa isang summary proceeding tulad ng bail hearing.

Sinabi naman ng prosekusyon na ang ginagawang pagkuwestiyon ng abogado ni Estrada na si Atty. Samuel Acut ang dahilan kaya humahaba ang pagdinig.

Bago pa man maresolba ang isyu ay umapela na ang prosekusyon na kung maaari ay ikansela muna ang pagdinig dahil hindi maganda ang pakiramdam ni Benhur Luy.

Pumasok ang nurse ng Sandiganbayan at kinunan agad si Luy ng blood pressure.

Pumalo sa 150/110 ang BP ng whistleblower, mataas kumpara sa normal.

“Masakit daw iyong batok niya, medyo red din iyong eyes, medyo nasusuka, signs and symptoms nga na may high blood pressure,” pahayag ni Ryan Buenviaje, Sandiganbayan Nurse.

Bunsod nito, kinansela ng Sandiganbayan ang natakda sanang bail hearing ng senador upang makapagpahinga si Benhur Luy.

Ayon kay Prosecutor Atty. Jose Justiniano, maaring na-stress si Luy sa kanyang sitwasyon.

“Alam naman po natin na iyang hypertension ay maaaring umatake kahit anong oras eh. Maiintindihan naman natin kasi iyang ganyang pag-testify eh stressful din naman talaga iyan,” anang abogado.

Kaugnay nito, dismayado naman ang kampo ni Sen. Estrada dahil halos kahating araw silang naghintay para sa bail hearing ng senador.

Ayon kay Atty. Alexis Abastillas-Suarez, “Of course there’s no other thing for us to think than this is part of, this is one of the delaying tactics ng prosecution.”

MANILA, Philippines — Former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada was brought back to a non-COVID intensive care unit (ICU) on Thursday night after suffering a “slight setback,” his son, former Senator Jinggoy Estrada said.

“We wish to announce that my father had a slight setback last night as his doctors found a superimposed bacterial lung infection,” Jinggoy said in a Facebook post on Friday.

The younger Estrada said his father was moved back to a regular ICU “monitoring and support of his blood pressure which fluctuated due to the said infection.”

“But overall, he is stable with high flow oxygen support,” he added.

On Wednesday, Jinggoy said the former president has been transferred to a regular room after testing negative for COVID-19 on Tuesday.

“Once again, we ask for your prayers for his immediate recovery and also to all those infected with COVID-19,” the former senator said.

The former president contracted coronavirus disease in late March.

MANILA, Philippines – Former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada is now out of the intensive care unit (ICU) and will soon be transferred to a non-COVID ward, his son, former senator Jinggoy Estrada said on Wednesday.

“My father is back to a regular room and will be transferred to the non-covid area in a few days,” Jinggoy wrote on his social media page.

“He is still on oxygen but no longer high flow and only by nasal cannula,” he added.

The younger Estrada made the announcement a day after he said that his father already tested negative for COVID-19.

“He has no more fever and is eating well. He is well-oriented and conversing normally,” he said. “Our family wishes to thank everyone who offered their prayers and support. Please continue to pray for him and to all those afflicted by this disease.”

The former president tested positive for COVID-19 in late March.

MANILA, Philippines – Former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada has now tested negative for COVID-19, his son former Senator Jinggoy Estrada said on Tuesday.

“We are happy to announce that my dad continues to improve and we expect that he can be transferred to a regular room soon,” he wrote on Facebook.

“His repeat RT-PCR (swab test) is now NEGATIVE!” he added.

Jinggoy said his father is still on high-flow oxygen support but at a much-reduced rate.

His father has also been allowed to resume a soft diet, he added.

He also described Erap as “oriented, conversing normally and appears to be in good spirits.”

“Again, we thank everyone for their continuous support and love and ask that you continue to pray for him and others who are afflicted with this awful and dreaded disease,” Jinggoy said.

The former president tested positive for COVID-19 in late March.
