Fans took turns taking a photo at the place where The Beatles shot their Abbey Road album cover 50 years ago.

It is one of the world’s most iconic and recognizable album covers, and Thursday (August 8) marks the 50th anniversary of the day the classic Beatles Abbey Road photograph was taken.

On August 8, 1969, The Fab Four walked across a zebra crossing in St John’s Wood, North London, for the image caught on the cover of their classic album.

The photoshoot was the work of photographer Iain Macmillan, a good friend of The Beatles, who is said to have taken the photos in only 10 minutes.

Some were able to get free life advice from their number neighbor.
