Eagle Riggs

Actor, comedian and host, Eagle (Real Name: Michael Anthony Pangilinan Riggs) is one of the most familiar TV personalities on Philippine television today.  He has been in the media industry for 25 years and is well acquainted with all aspects of production, having been an editor, writer and producer.

He started working in 1988 for ABS-CBN’s ‘Magandang Umaga Po’ daily morning show, as editing assistant and was promoted as segment writer and host for the art and culture segment of the same show, then promoted to continuity writer, head writer and associate producer. Eagle was tapped as the segment host for the cooking portion in the show until it went off the air and was replaced by ‘Teysi Ng Tahanan,’ where he still hosted the same cooking segment which was called ‘Eagle’s Nest.’

As a professional writer, he worked with top-rated programs including ‘Mel and Jay’ and ‘Sharon’ at ABS-CBN.  In 1999 he transferred to GMA’s daily talk show ‘Brunch’.

Aside from his writing skills, Eagle’s talent as an actor-comedian continually brings him awards from various award-giving bodies. He acted in soap operas like ‘Mara Clara’ and ‘Mula sa Puso’ of the Kapamilya Network and ‘Mulawin’ and ‘Luna Mystica’ of the Kapuso Network.  Eagle continues to play bit roles for  soap operas such as ‘Mula sa Puso, ‘Wako Wako’,  and ‘Kahit Puso’y Masugatan’.  He was also cast in hit movies like ‘Petrang Kabayo’, and ‘This Guy’s In Love With U Mare.’

His work as a host garnered him recognition from PMPC Star Awards.  He was nominated as Best Game Show Host for ‘Ready Get Set Go’ where he co-hosted with Eric Quizon and Eula Valdez and  Best New TV Personality in 1989. He also won as Best Morning Program Host for ‘Unang Hirit’ together with his co- hosts Daniel Razon, Arnold Clavio. Suzi Abrera, Lyn Ching Pascual. Drew Arellano, Regine Tolentino, when he was in GMA7 in 2000 to 2010.

He currently shares his wealth of knowledge and passion for hosting with the Kasangbahay Network UNTV as the host of the show ‘Easy Lang Yan; a creative guide to practical home solutions.
