Your Selfie-holic friend will love this

We all have that one friend who would grab your phone just to take an undeterminable number of random selfies only to bug you later to upload all of it on Facebook. Well, that friend will surely get his/her narcissistic appetite satisfied with a special feature built-in on Facebook’s Messenger app that you probably didn’t know about.

A hidden feature

You’re probably aware of how Facebook is able to recognize your face off your friends photos on their timelines which is a cool and at the same time very powerful feature. This complicated string of codes and algorithm, aside from being a generous tool for stalking, is also the active component of Messenger’s photo-reminding feature.

Hidden inside your messenger app; just a few taps on your smartphone, lies Photo Magic. It’s a face recognizing feature that looks for the faces of your friends in your local phone gallery and will prompt you if you want to send a copy of the shot to them. The feature is not initially turned on upon installation of the Messenger app so you’ll have to activate it yourself.

Activating Photo Magic

1. Open Facebook’s messenger app from your app menu

2. Tap settings tab (the cog icon from the menu)

3. Go to Photos & Media

4. Tap Photo Magic

5. From here you will see the feature’s description. You can now tap the toggle switch at the upper right corner of the screen to turn it on.

6. Your phone is now set to remind you to send group photos to friends before they even start nagging you for it.
