The central concept of Rotary In Action is to encourage the culture of volunteerism in people and inspire them to help the less fortunate. RIA is a public service program hosted by the members of Rotary Club’s National Capital Region chapter. Rotary, being a service-oriented organization, recognized the power of media to rally people to take action and address the medical, legal, and socio-economic concerns of individuals and their communities. It is through Rotary In Action that Rotarians are able to present the diverse socio-civic activities of Rotary clubs in the country, hoping that more Filipinos will be inspired to involve themselves in Rotary’s noble projects. Through RIA, Rotarian values and principles are promoted, among which is its famous mantra, “Service Above Self.”
An original concept of BMPI-UNTV chairman, CEO, broadcaster, and Rotary Club of Kamuning member, Daniel Razon, Rotary In Action was recognized in 2011 by the Rotary International Public Image Group as the first TV program dedicated to Rotary. In the same year, the program also received an Anak TV Seal Award for being a child-friendly program.
Airing live every Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. on UNTV and via live streaming at www.untvweb.com, Rotary In Action has been bringing stories of hope and improving lives of every household in the country.
