Teenage years are extremely stressful. There’s a lot of pressure to do well academically; and more pressure on relationships and social status. Klasrum accurately depicts these struggles and the lives of today’s teens. It figuratively refers to the proverbial school of life where education goes beyond the “four- walled” classroom setting.
The show is set in a fictional radio program hosted by DJ Brother Bear; the show’s life coach and prime adviser. The storyline of the show is based on real-life accounts of viewers who send their stories to Brother Bear for his advice. This allows for a unique storyline each week. Klasrum is also packed with informative segments related to general education and extracurricular activities.
This innovative mix of drama and magazine earned Klasrum the U.P Community Broadcasters Society’s 2012 Gandingan Award for Best Youth Oriented Show
