Ang 2 day anti-corruption forum sa Makati (UNTV News)

MAKATI CITY, Philippines — Dinaluhan ng mga reperesentative ng APEC ang isang anti-corruption forum ngayong araw na ito (Setyembre 20) sa Makati City. Tinalakay sa naturang forum ang mabisang pamamaraan ng pagsugpo sa korapsyon sa larangan ng negosyo at sa hanay ng mga ahensya sa pamahalaan.

Apatnapu’t limang delegates ng Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation ang dumalo rito kasama ang ilang kinatawan mula sa pribado sektor at ng pamahalaan.

Bahagi ito ng pinalawak na implementasyon ng APEC Anti-Corruption Code of Conduct for Business.

Layunin ng pagtitipon na maalis ang korapsyon sa negosyo gaya ng suhulan sa pagkuha pa lamang ng business permit.

“Basically the APEC anti-corruption code prohibits or call for any enterprises within the ASIA PACIFIC REGION to disallow or not tolerate bribery in all its business dealing and operations,” pahayag ni Asryman Rafanan, Assistant Ombudsman.

“I pray for vigilance and courage as we battle this corps of corruption and instill the virtue of integrity in the way business is facilitated in the Asia Pacific Region. Thank you and enjoy your stay in the Philippines for there is more fun,” pahayag naman ni Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales.

Ang Office of the Ombudsman ang nanguna sa naturang forum na kamakailan ay nakakuha ng mataas na rating.

“I think one lesson would be we should not rest on this laurels no. although there might be improvements there might be gains, we should not stop on continuing or striving in doing our job and continue our fight against corruption,” pagtatapos ni Rafanan. (Rey Pelayo/Marje Navarro, UNTV News)
