Maynilad rewards individuals who will report illegal water connections
QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Maynilad water company is set to reward individuals who will report cases of illegal water connections. This is one of the solutions that the water concessionaire is looking into to apprehend those who steal water and prevent water shortage in the country.
The reward, reported to range between P15,000 and P120,000, shall be given to those who will report anyone who has illegal water connections in their residence, including those who have double tapping, tampered meter, by-pass connections and unregistered meters.
Fifty-one percent of Manilad water is called non-revenue water, which is wasted due to leakage in the pipelines and illegal connections.
According to Maynilad, they also target big companies, including commercial and industrial establishments.
