Globally, the Rotary Club is a well-known service club organization of volunteers who are committed in combating hunger, improving health and sanitation, and providing education and job training, promoting peace, and eradicating polio. Its motto is – “Service Above Self.”
As program in television, Rotary in Action traces the social service club's numerous outreaches for the people, particularly in the Philippines. And since the Rotary Club is best-known for its principles, the same will be seen evident in their public service commitments. To elaborate, the internationally-known Rotary Club has its so-called four-way test for Rotarians in their mode of thinking, saying or doing things, namely – 1) Is it the TRUTH?, 2) Is it FAIR to all concerned?, 3) Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIP?, and 4) Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Truly, Rotary in Action may have finally found its rightful place in national television via UNTV. While basically based in the National Capital Region, the hosts of Rotary Action is a program that is meant to inspire social civic actions and volunteerism among many Filipinos. And one of the ways of showing their being civic-minded is through features that showcase the public service endeavors of the Rotary Club for the indigents and the marginalized.
