Allan Encarnacion

The host who never runs out of naughty quips seen in Pondahan ni Kuya is no other than Allan Encarnacion.


Allan EncarnacionHe is a veteran reporter and journalist who worked his way up from humble beginnings as a correspondent in Abante Tonite in the late 1980s. Since then, he wrote for numerous tabloid newspapers as a reporter. He later became an editor in the newspaper Lider (1990-1991) and a news editor and columnist in Remate Tonite (1991-1993).


The year 1993 had been busy for him when he worked as an editor in two mainstream tabloids, Bulgar Tonite and Daily Balita. He was also working as a columnist in both dailies for two years.


Allan, who not only is fond of witty conversations, but also of articulating his opinions through writing, became a columnist for Hataw (2004), Taliba People’s Journal (1991-2001) and a contributing correspondent for The Daily Tribune (1999-2001).


His first job on television was with giant network ABS-CBN as a segment producer and writer of the defunct morning program Magandang Umaga Pilipinas, now Umagang Kay Ganda.


Encarnacion is father to two young boys, ages 16 and 7 years old. He earned his bachelors degree in Mass Communications in Lyceum University of Manila in 1990. He actively participated in school publications in college and became the spokesman for Alyansa ng mga Filipinong Mamamahayag (AFIMA) and a regular member of the National Press Club and NPC Gridiron.


Allan also used to be a theater actor in his early days and was an active member of different extra-curricular organizations. He joined the volleyball team, basketball team and Boy Scout of the Philippines. He also received the Most Reliable award when he joined the Citizen Military Training in college.


Allan loves to travel. He has visited several countries mostly in the Asian region.
